Healthy Homes
StarVista's Healthy Homes is a home visiting program that provides counseling and support services for pregnant mothers and families in San Mateo County with at least one child under the age of 6 years who has been affected by domestic violence.
Healthy Homes families receive psychotherapy, psychoeducation and case management services from a Family Support Specialist (FSS) and a Clinician, who work collaboratively through the duration of an open case. Home-based services enable staff to reach families who are isolated because of the abuse or who simply do not have access to transportation.
Our approach focuses on the parent-child relationship as the primary means for intervention. We strive to individualize services so that we can meet each child and family's unique needs.
